Cool Movie/TV Apartments #1: Just My Luck

January 29, 2008

I notice apartments in movies. I always have. I love to see how they are decorated and how big or small they are. I just think they are really fun to see what the set designers/art directors can dream up for different locations. The pics below are from the movie Just My Luck starring Lindsay Lohan & Chris Pine. Really its a cheeseball girl movie, but it has a pretty darn cute teeny studio apartment in it. I just love it! Look how cute the little kitchen area is with its miniature avocado green fridge and the lofted sleeping area up top. This is the kind of cute place that I would love to live in when (or if) I ever get to NYC.nycapt.png

There are some other cute little decorating ideas as well. For example the tiny little cute table and two chairs. And the crates on the wall as shelving. To see more pictures click more.

Sorry LiLo I know this is a really unfortunate paused photo. Oh well. But it is just about the only good shot of the little desk and computer area. I love how this room has 4 different wall colors painted in it. Reminds me of the apartment on Friends which also employed that multiple color scheme idea. screenshot_5.png

This picture of the bathroom behind her is just like my bathroom. Barely enough room to turn around! :) Also there is the same shower curtain that I actually have in my bathroom. Its from Ikea if you were curious.

This last picture just seems so honestly NYC. With the little makeshift bookcase next to the window. Something draped over the radiator. Exposed pipes and exposed brick on one wall and everything crammed into one teeny little room.

We have been talking about apartments in movies that were once larger and somehow connected. If you know of others let us know. Examples Rosemary’s Baby connects through the closet, Butterflies Are Free needs to move the dresser to open the door, and Seven Year Itch Marilyn opens up the stairs. Let us hear from you.

I’m looking for photos of Lindsey’s character’s apartment, especially the bedroom and closet. Can you post some please?
