Website: Hidden DVD Easter Eggs

I love DVD extras. The more, the better. Especially if there are Gag Reels or Making Of videos included. Well check out this website that shows you some EasterEggs on your very favorite dvds!

For those of you who have the LOST Season 3 dvds…there are many things listed on that page. I haven’t checked them out yet, but you can bet I will be doing that ASAP.

Enjoy!

Books: Sweet Valley High

Did any of you read Sweet Valley High books when you were younger?

They were a staple of my middle school years. I don’t think I read anything else during that time in my life….except for the few Saved by the Bell books that were also around. (Don’t judge me, but I still own them all in a box in my parents basement…and maybe own the Season 1 of the tv show! yikes)

Well, now that these books are being modified to appeal to present-day teens. Um. What? I just don’t know how I feel about this. Dickens? Austen? psh. These books are classics too! They are being updated to include new fashions, cars, and even (no big shocker) designer names and labels. If you ask me, the easiest way to pitch the lifespan of a book is to add a bunch of present day “hip” designer names and labels. Fashion is fickle people…There is a new hot name everyday.

Well anyways…I have to admit I am not thrilled about all these new changes, but then again, if new generations of teenyboppers are going to be fans of Jessica & Elizabeth Wakefield, maybe it is worth it.

Take a look at what my favorite (and very funny!) fashion critics, the Fug Girls have to say about our new Sweet Valley High Updates…

“Sweet Valley High gets a Fashion Face-lift.”

Website: Moo.com

So lately I have been thinking of getting some cards made. Not necessarily business cards for work, or for a business venture, but just cards with my name, number, email, etc. for making contacts that aren’t related to my current job. Like for networking with potential future employers or friends. This website Moo.com has some fun mini-cards that they print for a pretty good deal.

You can upload your own pictures and images and you can have 100 cards printed for $19.99. What do you think? I think I am going to do it…one of these days! :) I will keep you guys posted…

Website: Wear Your Music

Can’t think of the perfect holiday gift for your favorite music fanatic? Well this is it!

A website called Wear Your Music sells guitar strings of your favorite artists that have been made into bracelets. I have been watching this site for the last year or so and it is fun to see how they are growing in the selection of musicians they offer.

Big names like John Mayer, Jimmy Buffett and smaller names like Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) have donated their guitar strings to this great cause. All the profits are given to charity. I keep thinking this would be a great gift for my brother who is a big Death Cab for Cutie fan, but I haven’t ordered one yet. Check out the site and see if your favorite guitarist’s stuff is there…

Website: Found Magazine

Ever find a random note, photo or drawing laying around and wonder what was going on with the person who wrote it/took it/drew it? My friend Caitlin told me about a website called foundmagazine.com where people are able to submit these sorts of things. Everyday they post a “Find of the Day.” Check it out. Its fun to see the things people find and read the comments that people leave as well.

One of my favorites… The link that introduced me to the site…

The Best Thing Ever

FOUND by Sam in New York, New York

“It was the first nice day of spring so I decided to go to Central Park. I found a nice plot of grass to lay down on and eventually fell asleep. When I awoke this was folded up behind my head.”
