Lost: The Beginning of the End

Oh how nice it is to have LOST back on tv…

But as a fan who started watching the show on DVD, I am so unsatisfied with just one episode! I wish I had a whole disc of LOST left to watch tonight. What did everyone think of the episode?

Hurley & Charlie: This was definately a Hurley-centric episode. His flash-forwards are very interesting. Charlie has come back to talk to him. Dead Charlie that is. Viewers are not sure what to think about him, having known his history of mental illness and his imaginary friend from past episodes. Charlie looked good. Thats one of the nice things about this show. Even when a character dies, that doesnt nessesarily mean that they are off the show. They are still able to show up in flashbacks and former scenes. I will miss Charlie’s character, so hopefully he will continue to come back from time to time. Wasn’t the black man that came to find Hurley at the hospital scary? That was amazing casting. Whoever that guy is. Totally Scary.

Jack: In typical Jack mode he is taking charge and telling everyone what to do. At the beginning of the show the castaways needed him to be their leader. They needed him to tell them what to do and they trusted him completely. It is interesting to see the shift now to a point where people are choosing between Jack and Locke. I really think that Jack has everyone’s best interests at heart. Also, did anyone else notice how thin he has gotten? First thing I noticed was that Matthew Fox has gotten much thinner and has a new haircut! He looks great, as always, but he is defiantely thinner.

Kate: Still trapped between her emotions. Love for Sawyer. Love for Jack. I was impressed with the way she stole the Satallite phone from Jack. Smart move. She knew she was right, and it turns out that she really was. Naomi had wandered all the way into the jungle to do what? Hide? Get them to go looking for her? I think she was just trying to get away because she thought they were trying to kill her, but it was still a little bit confusing.

Sawyer: I love Sawyer’s character. Love him. I was impressed with the tenderness he used when asking Hurley how he was doing dealing with Charlie’s death. It was probably the nicest and most vulnerable we have ever seen Sawyer be. I wonder if the killing of his parents’ killer (Locke’s dad) has changed his perspective on life and death. It was interesting how he stood up to Kate too and wasn’t willing to change his mind about going with Locke to the barracks just to be with her. I think that was true Sawyer form…true Sawyer in the guarded tough guy way.

John Locke: This man can heal! I tell ya…how does he manage to heal from everything. Even that broken leg from last season only slowed him down a little bit!

Jacob: Who is Jacob? Well this time we actually got to see an outline of a figure in Jacob’s chair. And an eyeball in the window. I just don’t know what to think about the whole Jacob thing. I hope they continue to give us answers on that. I am very very curious.

One of the best things about this show are the questions the viewers are asking. One of the worst things about this show are the questions the viewers are asking. The best thing that the creators of this show did was create an end-date. Knowing that there are 48…well now 47 episodes left creates a nice place for the viewer. We know that they have a plan to write a satisfactory ending to the show and we will somehow get closure.

Ok thats all for now! 🙂 I hope you all enjoyed the episode!

(Also, can I just add…How bad was that Eli Stone show??? SOOOO BAD! Any show that centers around George Michael is bound to be bad. And then it was even worse than I ever could have imagined. If this is what the Writer’s Strike is forcing to be on tv I might die…)

Cool Movie/TV Apartments #1: Just My Luck

I notice apartments in movies. I always have. I love to see how they are decorated and how big or small they are. I just think they are really fun to see what the set designers/art directors can dream up for different locations. The pics below are from the movie Just My Luck starring Lindsay Lohan & Chris Pine. Really its a cheeseball girl movie, but it has a pretty darn cute teeny studio apartment in it. I just love it! Look how cute the little kitchen area is with its miniature avocado green fridge and the lofted sleeping area up top. This is the kind of cute place that I would love to live in when (or if) I ever get to NYC.nycapt.png

There are some other cute little decorating ideas as well. For example the tiny little cute table and two chairs. And the crates on the wall as shelving. To see more pictures click more. (more…)

Lost: Season 4 Promo

I swear nothing can go right for these poor castaways! Looks like their rescue may not be what it seems.

“With only 48 episodes left until the final airs in 2010, Lost has found itself to be another victim of the ongoing US writer’s strike, resulting in the show receiving a timeslot shift.

The show is moving to Thursday nights on US channel ABC, and the bad news doesn’t stop there – with only eight scripts done, those in power have decided to start airing those shows this week, even though there may well be a long break between the eighth and ninth episodes of the show.

If the strike ends in the next few weeks however, it’s possible all 16 of this season’s Lost episodes could air by the end of the US May sweeps.

Last May’s season finale – which revealed, via “flash-forwards,” that some of the castaways do, in fact, escape the island – advanced the Lost plot significantly, as show writers attempted to win back those viewers who had stopped watching.”

Lost: I’m Invested.

One night I went to Target to buy myself a new movie to watch. Instead I came home with Season 1 of Lost. I pretty much marathoned through it for the next few days and now I am invested. Both invested in the show because I honestly like it, and also invested by the fact that I now own all 3 seasons. I am invested into Lost $150 bucks and numerous hours of couch potato time. ( I haven’t watched all of Season 3 yet so don’t ruin it for me!)

Well it turns out that I picked the right time to get hooked on LOST because Season 4 starts up next week. Because of the strike there are 8 finished episodes ready to go so far for the upcoming season.  So that gives us TV junkies something to look forward to in this writer’s strike wasteland of primetime televison. Don’t worry I will be able to finish Season 3 in time to watch 4…

Also! Lost fans should tune into ABC on Jan 30th to get a extra-special viewing of the Season 3 finale. Word is that the episode will include fun facts, information and clues about the show on the bottom third of the screen. So definately set your TiVo’s for that in addition to the January 31st Season 4 premiere.

Anyone else out there a Lost fan?
