Just a random post…but this is the greatest candle ever!
Want to make your home smell all wonderful and delicious?
Pick up this Pineapple Mango candle from the White Barn line at Bath & Body Works.
I notice apartments in movies. I always have. I love to see how they are decorated and how big or small they are. I just think they are really fun to see what the set designers/art directors can dream up for different locations. The pics below are from the movie Just My Luck starring Lindsay Lohan & Chris Pine. Really its a cheeseball girl movie, but it has a pretty darn cute teeny studio apartment in it. I just love it! Look how cute the little kitchen area is with its miniature avocado green fridge and the lofted sleeping area up top. This is the kind of cute place that I would love to live in when (or if) I ever get to NYC.
There are some other cute little decorating ideas as well. For example the tiny little cute table and two chairs. And the crates on the wall as shelving. To see more pictures click more. (more…)
Lately I have posted an abundance of television postings, so I will switch it up with something totally different. As I have mentioned before my apartment has a definate New York theme…
I never really thought that my New York City theme could translate to my shower…but look at these! I found two different NYC curtains at www.UrbanOutfitters.com. I have to say I am partial to the quirky random things they sell at urban.
The Brooklyn Bridge Photo Shower Curtain is on sale for $19.99
MTA NYC Subway Map Shower Curtain is the one that i really like alot more, but it is $36.00!!! Dont you think thats a little bit pricy for a shower curtain? I think my shower curtain was $3.99 at Ikea. Anyways, I am perfectly happy with the one that I have now, but I just thought these were so fun and they definately are creative decor for your bathroom!
So Urban doesnt sell these shower curtains anymore, but Neil from izolashower.com contacted me to let me know where these curtains can still be purchased. Check out their website where you can purchase NYC subway map and brooklyn bridge shower curtains, along with other cities (Paris, Venice, Las Vegas, etc) and also, shower curtains made from an eco-friendly material called PEVA which is biodegradable.
Since I am living alone, I was thinking it would be fun to get a pet. But the thing is I don’t want all the work that goes into having pets. I would love to get a kitten, but I also want to be able to leave my place for weekends without having to find someone to cat-sit.
So basically…I am thinking about getting a fish. 🙂 haha! I feel like a little kid talking about getting a goldfish. Anyways…there is this awesome catalog called Chiasso that sells these hangable golfish bowls/vases that they call Mod Pods. I think its a pretty smart to think about having your fishbowl on the wall. Who came up with that??? Its much more exciting than just having a plain old fishbowl. If they werent so blasted expensive I would already have bought 2 or 3…
What do you think of these Mod Pods? What kind of fish do you think I should get for my new place?
Check out the rest of the catalog…it has some really cool modern & creative stuff. For example: I love this NYC themed doormat…but would you really want your place associated with the sewer?
I have always had this fascination with New York City. I don’t think I can express how much I enjoy the city. The lights, the noise, the energy, the people…everything. Two years ago I lived in Brooklyn Heights, NY. Since I returned to MN (and even a little bit before) my family and friends have been giving me gifts of things that are NY related. And especially the Brooklyn Bridge since I lived very close to it.
Now my decorating scheme is pretty much centered around my personal photography of New York and these gift items. Of course I love it! This weekend I am moving into my new apartment and while going through boxes of old packed away things I found two decorative plates with the Brooklyn Bridge on them. I think I am going to hang them up in my new place. (I will try to post pictures after I move in and get settled)
Then…I was shopping on Urban Outfitters website and i found this plate!
I know it is kind of a small image, but this was the size from the website. Look at more views here.
Isn’t it perfect to add to my collection? And its on sale!! $19.99 down from $28.00 originally!
Update 8/17/07: I bought it!! I can’t wait to hang it up! 🙂
